"Who's That Girl" is a soundtrack album to the film of the same name starring American singer-songwriter Madonna, who also performs four of the album's nine songs. It was released on July 21, 1987 by Sire Records, to accompany the motion picture "Who's That Girl". Unlike the flop film, upon release, it was a major success, being certified Gold & Platinum in the U.S on July 29, 1987, denoting one million shipments there & selling in excess of five million copies worldwide. Album history

Madonna contributed four songs to the soundtrack, continuing her work with Patrick Leonard and Stephen Bray (he also composed the music to the motion picture). The third song released from the album was the minor hit "The Look of Love," which was released outside of North America and charted in the Top 10 in the UK.

Although "Who's That Girl" is generally regarded as a Madonna soundtrack, as she was the main performer, the soundtrack also features five other music acts. In fact, Duncan Faure's "24 Hours" and Michael Davidson's "Turn It Up" were also released as singles. Madonna later performed "Who's That Girl," "Causing a Commotion," and "The Look of Love" on her 1987 "Who's That Girl Tour." In 1990, she performed "Causing a Commotion" for her "Blond Ambition Tour". She has not performed material from this album since.
