Sausage biscuit

Sausage biscuit

A sausage biscuit is a popular breakfast menu item at fast food restaurants such as McDonald's, Jack's and Hardee's. It is often served with a scrambled egg and/or cheese. The sausage patty is typically circular while the biscuit is a golden color. The color of the biscuit may change if it is left under a heat lamp for too long. Most fast food chains use the same biscuit type for an entire line of breakfast dishes. Similar breakfast sandwiches made with a croissant, English muffin, or bagel instead of a biscuit are also common.
