Heritage Institute of Technology is located in an agro-based environment of Anandapur, Kolkata. It is a private engineering and management education college affiliated to the West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata.

The college was established in 2001 by Kalyan Bharti Trust, a conglomerate of like-minded industrialists. Currently it offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech; 6 Departments) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) degrees. The Management Education Centre (Dean: Dr. Bani Sinha) provides Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with various specialisations.

The college fest was started by the first batch of Heritage Institute of Technology B.Tech batch in 2002 along with the active cooperation of faculty members & it was held in CLT Mahal, Dhakuria, Kolkata. In the second year it was held in Najrul Mancha and it was a success. Many of inter college competitions were held local kolkata rock bands were invited for performances.In the next year i.e Eclecia '04 held at Swabhumi , was a massive hit & its news came in the leading newspapers & radio channels of the city drawing huge number of audience. It was inaugurated by Russi Modi. New events like fashion show was introduced & bands like Euphoria were invited for live performance.
