WBGN-LP is a Class A qualified low-powered independent station located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The station is owned and operated by the Bruno-Goodworth Network. WBGN-LP began broadcasting in 1995 on channel 59 with the call sign W59BT. WBGN identifies itself as WBGN-TV to eliminate any confusion to viewers as to what WBGN is. WBGN simulcasts on nine (9)LPTV television stations that are strategically located throughout the Pittsburgh DMA. This combined signal makes WBGN's coverage equal to or greater than the existing full power network affiliates in the Pittsburgh Market. WBGN is one of the few LPTV stations in the country that is "reportable" by Nielsen Media Research.fact|date=March 2008

Programming

The station broadcasts a variety of programming including first run syndicated shows such as Martha, Reno 911, Chappelle's Show, , Temptation and Jury Duty, along with former network hits such as Family Ties, Hawaii Five-O, , The Nanny, Mad About You, The Outer Limits, and America's Funniest Home Videos. The prime-time lineup is rounded out with programming syndicated from Canada such as Cold Squad, Stone Undercover and ReGenesis. The network also shows second-run movies, children's shows such as Beakman's World, live religious broadcasts and real estate shows.

WBGN produces a number of regularly scheduled local programs. It broadcasts Local News Breaks and local high school and professional sporting events. In 2005 the station began production of "The It's Alive Show", a program showcasing horror films and B-movies. Since May 2006, the station also produces two-minute news and 30-second weather segments which air every half hour during prime-time hours.

WBGN-LP is carried on most local cable systems. WBGN is not available on satellite. Including the broadcast on channel 59 in Pittsburgh, the station is available over-the-air to almost all households in South-Western Pennsylvania, the Northern-Panhandle of West Virginia, and East-Central Ohio through the 9 stations that simulcast WBGN in the Pittsburgh market. The station was dropped in 2006 from several Comcast systems in the region, including those Comcast acquired from now-defunct Adelphia Cable [ [http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/07236/811700-237.stm# Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (August 23, 2007)] ] but returned to those systems in 2008 after a management change at Comcast. WBGN-LP is not currently broadcasting on any digital channels.
