Richard Gauthier is a Canadian
Métis musician living inKelowna, British Columbia .Born
December 19 ,1962 inSaint Boniface, Manitoba to René Gauthier and Mary Jane Kipling, Richard was the middle of 9 children. Richard went to school in Winnipeg at Marion School, Nordale Elementary and Holy Cross Parochial. He completed his high school (1980) in St. Vital, attendingGlenlawn Collegiate .After high school, he joined the
Canadian Forces as a communications research operator. After his service in the military, Richard went onto theological studies at both theCentral Pentecostal College in Saskatoon and the Catherine Booth College, nowBooth College , in Winnipeg, graduating in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theology.Richard spent 10 years serving as a minister in churches throughout Manitoba. Leaving the ministry in 1995 to pursue other endeavors, Richard finally moved west to Kelowna in 2000 where his musical career began to rise. His first CD was a live release entitled "Aboriginal Day Live".
