The World Can't Wait! Drive Out the Bush Regime! (WCW) is a
left-wing group in theUnited States . According to its mission statement, by organizing people living in the United States, WCW seeks "to create a political situation where the Bush administration's program is repudiated, where Bush himself is driven from office, and where the whole direction he has been taking U.S. society is reversed." [ WCW Mission Statement, http://worldcantwait.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=0&Itemid=2#mission]WCW levies many accusations against the Bush Administration, including: the Iraq war, alleged prisoner abuse and torture in the interrogation of military detainees and the alleged abrogation of their rights to habeas corpus, domestic wire-tapping and surveillance activities ordered personally by the President, what it sees as the administration's incompetence in response to Hurricane Katrina, and the Administration's support for anti-abortion legislation which they claim has a basis in the goals of the
Christian Right .World Can't Wait was formed in January 2005. Its headquarters is in
New York City . It was initiated by supporters of the Revolutionary Communist Party, including Sunsara Taylor and Travis Morales. World Can't Wait's steering committee includes a broader array of political affiliations. Its call for Bush's removal has attracted a diverse range of endorsers which include members of the Green and Democratic party.WCW has been selected "Most Valuable Crusade" by
The Nation magazine. [Nichols, John, The Most Valuable Progressives, http://www.thenation.com/blogs/thebeat/?pid=264240]Events organized
