West High School is a public high school in the Sioux City Community School District serving grades 9-12. It serves the West side of Sioux City, even though the school district just rerouted(shrunk enrollment creating bigger numbers at the more affluent schools) the school boundaries. It has an approximate enrollment of 1300 students and is one of the most diverse schools in the district.Fact|date=July 2008 The school has received numerous National awards for having the most dance contest winners.Fact|date=July 2008 It's also the high school of current Chicago Bulls point guard Kirk Hinrich. The school's student government has received state and national recognition for support provided to the school and the Sioux City community.
