- Electoral district of Macquarie Fields
Macquarie Fields is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the
Australia n state ofNew South Wales . It is represented by Dr Andrew McDonald of theAustralian Labor Party . Dr McDonald had previously worked as a paediatrician at Campbelltown and Camden hospitals.Dr McDonald replaces former Labor MP Steven Chaytor, who resigned following a conviction on domestic violence charges. Dr McDonald's principal opponent at the election was Liberal candidate
Nola Fraser , who made wide-ranging public criticisms of the administration of Camden andCampbelltown Hospital s.Despite the scandal associated with Chaytor's resignation, Dr McDonald was comfortably elected with 61% of the two-party-preferred vote.
