Ira Basen

Ira Basen

Ira Basen is a Canadian radio producer, who has been associated with CBC Radio since 1984. He has been associated with the programs "Sunday Morning", "Quirks and Quarks", "The Inside Track" and "This Morning", and has written for "Saturday Night" and "The Globe and Mail".

In 2005, Basen was co-credited on the first Canadian edition of "The Book of Lists".

Basen created [http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/spincycles/index.html "Spin Cycles"] , a six part documentary series for CBC Radio One on the topic of public relations and spin. It began in January 2007 and is currently being aired.

Basen is an award winning journalist who has received both national and international awards including a Gabriel Award in 1987 for "Jackie Robinson,the legend and the legacy" a segment of "the Inside Track" created by Basen.

He is currently teaching radio journalism at Ryerson University.
