Norway . Although founded as late as 1946, academic activity had taken place atBergen Museum as far back as 1825. Theuniversity today serves more than 14,500 students. It is one of seven universities in Norway, the other six being theUniversity of Oslo , theNorwegian University of Science and Technology inTrondheim , theUniversity of Tromsø , theUniversity of Stavanger , theUniversity of Agder and theNorwegian University of Life Sciences inÅs .Home students (European citizens) do not pay fees to the university. Students are however required to be members of the student welfare organisation. As of Fall 2006, this fee ("semesteravgift") is NOK 400 (approx.
