SCENE Music Festival

The acronym "SCENE" stands for "S"t. "C"atharines "E"vent for "N"ew Music "E"ntertainment.

The first festival in 1996 drew about 800 people. The event in 2003, seven years later, was attended by around 2,500 and featured 85 bands. The 2005 event received corporate sponsorship from Solo Mobile, which also sponsored the 2006 festival. Originally slated to sponsor in 2007 and 2008, but in early June 2007 before the full band lineup had been announced, all mention of Solo disappeared. A few weeks later the MTV logo began appearing and it was revealed they would be the presenting sponsor for 2007.

S.C.E.N.E. 2008 will be held on Sunday June 29. Headliners have yet to be announced.
