Nihongo|Tenri|天理市|Tenri-shi is a city located in Nara, Japan. Tenri is the only city in Japan to be named after a religious group. However, Tenrikyo had recommended "Yamabe" which is the name of district, Yamabe that the city is located in.

The Isonokami Jingu, a Shinto shrine of religious, historical and artistic significance, stands in Tenri.

The spiritual center of the Tenrikyo religion is also located in Tenri.

As of 2005, the city has an estimated population of 69,587 and the density of 805.68 persons per km². The total area is 86.37 km².

The city was founded on April 1, 1954. It is sister city of La Serena, Chile, since 1966.
