History

* 1898 The station opens as Tanbaichi Station of Nara Railways
* 1905 The station becomes the part of Kansai Railway
* 1907 Becomes part of JNR
* 1915 Tenri Narrow Railway expands to Tenri
* 1921 Tenri Narrow Railway merges with Osaka Electric Rail (Former body of Kintetsu)
* 1941 OER and Sankyu Express Railway merges
* 1944 Kankyu Tenri station becomes Kintetsu Tenri Station
* 1963 JNR-Tanbaichi Station becomes Tenrishi Station
* 1965 The Sakurai Line is elevated, and both stations merges into one
* 1987 JNR becomes JR West
* 2007 Kintetsu Tenri starts using PiTaPa
