Musa Khel

The Musa Khel or Moosa Khel are a Pashtun clan of Kakar origin.[1] They originate from the Dera Ghazi Khan border of the Punjab province of Pakistan [1] and reside in the tribal range of Batagram District in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. The town has the lowest literacy rate in Pakistan with a meager 10.37%. Musa Khel is also a tribe of the subtribe Babozai of the major Pathan tribe, Yousafzai living in Swat and Shangla districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

History

They are an Allaiwal clan of Swati origin.[citation needed]

They were traditional enemies of the Khetrans and other Baluch tribes to the south of their country. In 1879 the Musa Khels and other Pathan tribes to the number of 5000 made a demonstration against Vihowa, but the town was reinforced and they dispersed. In 1884 they were punished, together with the Kakars, by the Zhob Valley Expedition.[1] In the first decade of the twentieth century they numbered about 4670 fighting men.[1]
