Portman Holdings , run byJohn Portman , has already signed an agreement with South Korean officials to build this tower, which would surpass the current 264 meter (865 ft)Samsung Tower Palace 3 - Tower G as the tallest building inSouth Korea . The building will be part of a residential, office, and hotel complex, covering 1,500 acres (6 km²) and costing $11 billion. This tower is estimated to be completed in 2012. The Incheon Tower will be tied with theGuangzhou TV & Sightseeing Tower as the fifth-tallest building when it is complete after theBurj Dubai (818 m (2,684 ft),Lanco Hills Signature Tower (640 m (2,099 ft))Pentominium (618 m (2,028 ft)) and theRussia Tower (612 m (2,008.53 ft). An agreement was signed with the Portman Consortium on27 August 2007 to start construction on the Incheon Free Economic Zone, which will include the Incheon Tower. The Landmark City with the 151-story Incheon Tower (with a gross floor area of 600,000 ㎡) and the artificial lake (730,000 ㎡) will be developed in phases by 2017.References
