"Rebecca" is a German-language musical based on the novel of the same name by Daphne du Maurier. It was written by Michael Kunze (lyrics) and Sylvester Levay (music), the authors of "Elisabeth", "Mozart!" and "Marie Antoinette". It premiered on September 28, 2006 at the Raimund Theater in Vienna, Austria.

The plot, which adheres closely to the original novel, revolves around Maxim DeWinter, his new wife, and Mrs. Danvers, the housekeeper of DeWinter's Cornish estate Manderley who resents the young woman's intrusion into the world she shared with the first Mrs. DeWinter, the glamorous and mysterious Rebecca, who perished in a drowning accident. The music ranges from close choral scoring with a rising rhythm section from the pit to power ballads.

"Rebecca" is now being performed in Helsinki (Finland), and returns to Tokyo (Japan) in 2009, this time to the stage of the Imperial Theater. On November 4th 2007, it was announced by Kathrin Zechner (Intendant of the VBW) that a Broadway production of "Rebecca" was being considered. Meanwhile, Global Broadway Productions Inc. announced that they intend to open Rebecca in Spring 2010 on Broadway. "Rebecca" will have try-out performances in Toronto in 2009. No theatre nor cast or creative team have been named for either the try-out or Broadway run.
