English guitaristJohn Renbourn described McManus as "the best Celtic guitarist in the world". His first self-titled album was released in 1996 onGreentrax Recordings . His second album, entitled "Pourquoi Quebec?", was recorded inQuebec , Canada and released on the same label in January 1998. His third album, "Ceol More", was released in 2002 and achieved widespread critical acclaim. Ceol More exhibits not only McManus's proficiency as a guitarist, but also as an arranger, including a version of Charles Mingus'sGoodbye Porkpie Hat . He has recorded duets with noted Scottish fiddlerAlasdair Fraser , and recently released an album with French bassist Alain Genty, entitled Singing Sands.References
