Fernando da Silva Cabrita (born Lagoa, Algarve,
1 May 1923 ) is a former Portuguese footballer and football manager.He played as a forward for minor teams like
Olhanense andSporting da Covilhã , but he still had 7 caps for Portugal National Team, 4 for Olhanense and 3 for Sporting da Covilhã. His debut was at a 2-2 draw with Spain, in11 March 1945 , and his last game was a 0-3 lost to Brazil, in16 June 1957 , aged thirty four.He was the National Team manager, for nine games, in the season of 1983/84, after the resignation of
Otto Glória . He lead a technical commission with three other members :Toni ,António Morais andJosé Augusto . He achieved the first ever qualification for Portugal for the Euro Cup finals, in 1984, were Portugal reached the semi-finals, losing 2-3 with France, in extra-time.
