Matthew Polashek

Matthew Polashek is a contemporary saxophonist living in the New York City area. His work focuses on the development of his own real-time computer-based interactive multimedia performance system.

Polashek performs with his own group, the Matthew Polashek Exchange, and has performed and recorded with internationally renowned artists including David Liebman and Brian Lynch. A gifted performer, composer, and arranger, Polashek has lectured on the collegiate level about contemporary music performance practices. He has performed contemporary music throughout the U.S. Polashek is also a project editor for Macmillan/McGraw-Hill.

Polashek holds a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where he studied saxophone with John Salerno. He has extensive experience performing professionally on the saxophone, flute, and clarinet in a multitude of genres.

He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in music at the City University of New York.

Polashek's equipment consists of a Yamaha Custom 875 alto saxophone, a Yamaha 61 tenor saxophone, a Selmer Super Balanced Action baritone saxophone, a Buffet clarinet, and a Pearl PF401RBE flute.
