Susanna of Bavaria

Susanna of Bavaria (born April 2 1502 in Munich; died April 23 1543 in Neuburg an der Donau) was the daughter of Albert IV, Duke of Bavaria and Kunigunde of Austria, the daughter of Frederick III, Holy Roman Emperor and Eleanor of Portugal. Her paternal grandparents were Albert III, Duke of Bavaria and Anna of Brunswick-Grubenhagen-Einbeck.

Marriage

She married Kasimir, Margrave of Bayreuth in 1518. She had one child Marie of Brandenburg-Kulmbach who married in 1537, Frederick III, Elector Palatine and had eleven children including Louis VI, Elector Palatine. After her husband Kasimir's death in 1527, Susanna married on October 16, 1529, Otto Henry, Elector Palatine. Their marriage produced no children. By her daughter Marie, Susanna is the ancestress of King George I of Great Britain and the House of Hanover.

Death

Susanna died on 23 April 1543 in Neuburg an der Donau. She was 41 years old.
