WAOE (My59) is a MyNetworkTV affiliated television station licensed to Peoria, Illinois in the Peoria-Bloomington media market. It has the highest and last analog TV channel allocation in the market, and also broadcasts a digital signal on channel 39.

The station began broadcasting in late 1999. Its tower is located in East Peoria, Illinois. Originally in downtown Peoria, its offices are now in East Peoria, Illinois and co-managed with WEEK-TV.

On June 5, 2006, a new primetime newscast called "News 25 at 9 on My59" premiered on WAOE. The newscast, produced by WEEK-TV, airs weekdays at 9 PM.

Network affiliation

WAOE was an affiliate of UPN since its startup. On March 15, 2006, channel 59 was announced as Peoria's MyNetworkTV affiliate. [http://www.broadcastingcable.com/article/CA6316234.html?display=breakingnews] The official changeover took place on September 5, 2006. The successor to UPN and The WB, The CW, will be on a digital subchannel of ABC affiliate WHOI.

News partnership

Since Monday, June 5, 2006, WEEK has been airing a news program on WAOE, entitled "News 25 at 9 on My59", hosted by Mike Dimmick and Lee Ranson. This became the Peoria area's second 9pm news program, competing against WYZZ's "News at 9", which is produced in association with WMBD-TV.
