Justiniškės, located in western edge of
Vilnius , is one of the newest districts in the capital ofLithuania . It is also one of the 21elderate s ofVilnius city municipality . It was built mainly between in the 1980s as amicrodistrict . Almost all buildings are Soviet-builthuman habitat s.Justiniškės covers 2.98
km² . According to 2001 census, about 31,000 people live in the district. There are 289 large apartment buildings. Streets in Justiniškės: Taikos ("Peace"), Rygos ("Riga "), Justiniškių, Ežeraičio, Skatulės and Mozūriškių.Justiniškės has stores from major Lithuanian store chains like "Norfa, IKI, Maxima". There are a few schools in the area: Taikos comprehensive school ("Taikos pagrindinė mokykla"),Mykolas Biržiška junior college ("Mykolo Biržiškos gimnazija"), Vyturys primary school ("Vyturio pradinė mokykla", named afterlark ), Pelėda primary school ("Pelėdos pradinė mokykla", named afterowl ), Sietuva high school ("Sietuvos vidurinė mokykla") and a few more. Also there is somekindergarten s "Nykštukas" ("Dwarf"), "Žilvinėlis", "Justinukas". Several banks, includingSEB Vilniaus bankas ,Swedbank , and Bankas "Snoras", offer their services to the residents.The district has good a recreation area with a little forest, park, and a lake.
