IPA2|ʒu'zɛ 'ʁɛɫvɐʃ, was a Portuguese politician, son of Carlos Augusto Mascarenhas Relvas de Campos (Golegã , Golegã, c. 1835 –Golegã , Golegã,January 23 ,1884 ), Fidalgo of theRoyal Household , and wife Margarida Amélia Mendes de Azevedo e Vasconcelos (1838 – 1888), daughter of the 1st Viscounts and 1st Counts de Podentes. A historic republican, it was him who proclaimed the republic in the balcony of Municipal Chamber ofLisbon , in5 October 1910 . He was the 2nd Minister of Finances during the Provisional Government, lead byTeófilo Braga , fromOctober 12 ,1910 toSeptember 3 ,1911 . After that, he served as minister (ambassador ) of Portugal inMadrid , from 1911 to 1914. He was President of the Ministry (103rdPrime Minister ), fromJanuary 27 toMarch 30 ,1919 , in one of the many short lived governments of thePortuguese First Republic . His house in Alpiarça is now the House-museum of Patudos, where his art collection is exhibited.He was married to Eugénia de Loureiro de Queirós do Couto Leitão, daughter of Luís de Loureiro de Queirós Cardoso do Couto Leitão (b.
April 19 ,1844 ), 1st Viscount de Loureiro and son of the 1st Barons de Prime, and wife (m.September 13 ,1862 ) Antónia da Silva Mendes (September 23 ,1845 –October 12 ,1872 ), and had three children: Carlos, João and Maria Luísa.
