Trinidad and Tobago , specializing in news and current affairs oriented programming. It is available only to subscribers of Flow Cable. CNC3's studios are located at theTrinidad Guardian building in downtownPort of Spain .History
CNC3 broadcasts were to have begun on
15 September 2005 . Approximately three hours prior to the station's debut, theTelecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) ordered that CNC3 not proceed with its broadcasts claiming the broadcaster had no authority to proceed. TATT reversed its decision late the following day, and broadcasts began shortly thereafter (the actual start date is not confirmed). In December 2007, CNC3 was recommended by theTelecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago for a national free-to-air broadcast licence. The application is currently pending approval.Programming
The station carries at least eight hours of original programming on weekdays, supplemented by feeds from
Fashion TV andThe Food Network . It airs one main newscast at 7.00pm, with supporting bulletins on weekdays at 12.00noon and 9.30pm. There is one newscast on weekends at 7.00pm.When the station was launched there was an implied public perception that it would feature a twenty-four hour news schedule. Instead, the station carries its major newscasts at the same time as competing broadcast stations, and it carries no news content during the afternoon or overnight periods, and there is only one thirty-minute news broadcast on weekends. The station does not have the capacity to broadcast live pictures from remote locations around the country, but instead relies on phoned-in reports from its correspondents in the event of breaking news.
