Bennie Dee Warner

Bennie Dee Warner is a Liberian politician. He served as the country's Vice-President from 1977 to 1980.

Warner was a bishop in the United Methodist Church before he was plucked from relative obscurity to become Vice President. After fleeing the military coup of Samuel Doe, Bishop Warner established residence in Oklahoma City, where he taught at the United Methodist Oklahoma City University and pastored Quayle United Methodist Church. He then served in Syracuse N.Y, before being appointed District Superintendent of the Camden District of the United Methodist Church in Arkansas. After retiring from this position, he returned to the congregation that first welcomed him and his family to the U.S.: Quayle UMC in OKC. AFter retiring yet again, he continues to assist at Wesley United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City.
