Soul historian Pete Hoppula has summarized the matter [ [http://koti.mbnet.fi/wdd/babywashington.htm Baby Washington ] ] and has provided a published source that notes the distinction:
:"Meanwhile, during the late '70's, a certain Jeanette Washington began providing background vocals for George Clinton's famed Parliament/Funkadelic, as well as lead vocals for his girl group offshoot, Parlet. This session singer is not to be confused with Baby Washington, who states emphatically that she has never recorded with any of these groups." - [Huston, Bruce.
