He has held that position since the 2002 season and is the 14th football coach at the school. His coaching record at Mississippi Valley State was 25 wins, 41 losses, and 0 ties. As of the conclusion of the 2007 season, this ranks him fourth at Mississippi Valley State in total wins and seventh at Mississippi Valley State in winning percentage (0.379). Rice-Totten Field , named for him and legendary NFLwide receiver Jerry Rice . Totten was Rice'squarterback at MVSU, and with Rice as his target, Totten set more than 50Division I-AA passing records. His team scored a stunning 59 points a game, and in one year he threw for a record 58 touchdowns. Totten played professionally in the CFL with theBritish Columbia Lions (1986) andToronto Argonauts (1987) before moving on to the NFL, as a "replacement player" for theBuffalo Bills during the 1987 season. In two games as a "replacement player," Totten completed 13 of 33 passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns.Totten is a member of
