The Kurdish Globe

"The Kurdish Globe", previously known as "The Hewler Globe", is the first and only English language newspaper published in Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan Region. Its first issue was published on March 31st, 2005. Its Editor-in-Chief and founder is "Jawad Qadir". The name was changed to The Hewler Globe to The Kurdish Globe for the paper included issues regarding the entire Kurdish nation of all parts of Kurdistan in Turkey, Iran, Iraq and Syria.

This weekly newspaper is published every Tuesday which focuses primarily on Kurdish issues ranging from politics to culture, as well as Middle East-related issues and politics.

"Hewler" (or "Hewlêr"), which was part of the previous name of the paper, is the Kurdish word for Erbil [http://www.dicts.info/di1.php?k1=97&k2=214&w=Erbil] , where the paper is published. "Erbil" is the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world.
