Eva Wydra Hoffman is a writer and academic. She was born as Ewa Wydra
July 1 ,1945 inKraków ,Poland after her Jewish parents survivedthe Holocaust by hiding inUkraine . When she was an adolescent, her family immigrated toCanada in 1959 and her named changed to Eva, and upon graduating from high school she received a scholarship and studied atRice University , Texas (English literature), theYale School of Music , andHarvard University , where she received a Ph.D. in literature. In 2008, she was awarded an honoraryDLitt by theUniversity of Warwick . She now lives inLondon . [cite episode
