September 1958 , when Willingsworth High School opened as a new secondary modern school to serve theOcker Hill andPrinces End areas of Tipton.It became the RSA Academy in
September 2008 .The academy has three houses, Romney, Shipley and Adam.
The academy's current headteacher is Mr Michael Gernon, who was appointed on the school's opening to replace former Willingsworth head Mr Patrick Sporer.
The RSA Academy is currently based within the Willingsworth buildings but the go-ahead has been given for a new school building to be built and it is expected to be ready by
September 2010 . The willingsworth buildings will be demolished in late2010
