Kish Air Flight 707

On September 19 1995 an Iranian Boeing jet, Kish Air Flight 707, flying from Tehran to the Iranian resort island of Kish, was hijacked by a flight attendant Reza Jabaricite web|url=http://www.metimes.com//2000/08/11/iranian_who_hijacked_plane_selling_shoes_in_israel/1745/|title=Iranian who hijacked plane selling shoes in Israel|publisher=Middle East Times|date=2000-08-11|accessdate=2007-12-12] . The jet had 174 passengers on board. The hijacker demanded to land in Europe, but the plane did not have enough fuel. They eventually landed in Israel and he was arrested by the authorities and sentenced to eight years in prison, but was released after four-and-a-half years.
