Presidio of San Diego fromOctober 23 1820 to September 1821 and again from 1827 to his death in 1830.Family life

In 1827 Estudillo's son
José Antonio Estudillo built a large L-shapedadobe on land granted byGovernor José Echeandia. The adobe was later enlarged and became U-shaped. It is at the southeast side of the Old Town San Diego plaza.Estudillo's other children were José Joaquin, who lived on the San Leandro rancho, on the eastern shore of the
San Francisco Bay ; María Dolores Estudillo, who marriedJuan Bandini ; and Magdalena, who was grantee of part of the Otay ranch in 1829.ources
