*1920: The Shanghai Mint is established in
Shanghai ,China .
*1928: The Shanghai Mint is renamed as the Central Mint of China (CMC), and operates under the Ministry of Finance.
*1933: The CMC officially starts minting circulation coins.
*1937: TheSecond Sino-Japanese War starts. The CMC follows theKuomintang government and moves to safety, opening several branches inWuchang ,Chengdu ,Guilin ,Lanzhou , andKunming . All branches are closed after the war.
*1946: The CMC moves back to Shanghai.
*1949: The CMC follows the Kuomintang government to Taiwan and is set up on Jiuquan Street inTaipei . In the meanwhile, it becomes a subsidiary of the Central Bank of China.
*1976: The CMC moves to its new plant inTaoyuan City , Taiwan.External links
