West Park is a west side
neighborhood inCleveland, Ohio . Originally part of Rockport Township, West Park was named after Benjamin West, an early settler. It was annexed to Cleveland in 1922, the last large suburb to become part of the city. It occupies a 12.5 sq. mi. area between W. 117th St. to the Rocky River Valley and from Lakewood's southern boundaries toBrookpark Road . This neighborhood presently encompasses the statistical planning areas of Kamm's Corners, Jefferson, Puritas-Longmead, and Riverside. The southern part of Riverside is mostly land annexed by Cleveland from Brook Park in 1947 and 1995 when the city expandedCleveland Hopkins International Airport into the territory.The area is predominantly anIrish-American andGerman-American neighborhood.References
