Take One

Take One

"Take One" was a film magazine - published in Montreal, Canada and distributed worldwide - that first began publishing in 1966, and ceased publication in 1979. While giving due attention to the newly-emerging Canadian film scene, it did not shrink from covering the international film scene. Notable contributors included (director) Brian De Palma and (actor) Richard Dreyfuss. Founding Editor/Publisher was Peter Lebensold.

Published later (in Toronto, and with no connection to the above):

"Take #1" (issn|1192-5507, OCLC|60624126) was a Canadian film magazine which published from 1992 to 2005. It is frequently cited as the country's most important and influential film magazine, offering criticism and, most notably, contributions to the discourse of Canada as a filmmaking body.

The periodical was produced by DW Communications. Wyndham Wise was the publisher, while Tom McSorley was editor.
