high school inIdaho Falls, Idaho . The school is located on the west side of Idaho Falls at 1767 Blue Sky Drive.History
Skyline was the second high school built in Idaho Falls. Due to incomplete construction the first graduating class of 1967 did not actually attend classes at the high school. The students were required to attend the other high school in town,
Idaho Falls High School . Some would attend the school in the morning, and some in the afternoon. By the following academic year of 1967-68 the school was fully operational. The first principal of Skyline was Richard Bigelow. When Skyline was completed, it was thought of as the "country" school, because the city of Idaho Falls had not grown to fully encompass the area the school was built on. In the following decades the town grew to surround the high school.Athletics
Skyline's main rival in athletics are the Tigers of Idaho Falls High School. The two rivals share an outdoor football and track stadium adjacent to Idaho Falls High School. The stadium is called Ravsten Stadium in honor of the first coach of Skyline, who had transferred from the Idaho Falls High School. Each year the two rivals face off in a game of football to decide the color of the goal posts at Ravsten Stadium (orange for Idaho Falls, or blue for Skyline). The event has come to be known as the Emotion Bowl [http://www.d91.k12.id.us/skyline/sports/football/history.htm] , and is considered a local tradition.
The stadium is also open to many other regional schools such as: Highland High School,
Pocatello High School ,Blackfoot High School ,Rigby High School , Madison High School, and local teams Bonneville High School and Hillcrest High School.Skyline has state championships in: [cite web |url=http://www.idhsaa.org/ |title=IHSSA Home |accessdate 2007-11-14]
