Anwar Saifullah Khan is a prominent
politician ofPakistan and is currently a Member of the Provincial Assembly ofNWFP . He hails from DistrictLakki Marwat and has remained a Federal Minister under the Premiership ofBenazir Bhutto . He is the most illustrious son-in-law of former President of PakistanGhulam Ishaq Khan . His younger brotherSalim Saifullah Khan is currently affiliated with the PML (Q) party as a Senator and who also remained a federal minister under the premiership ofMuhammad Khan Junejo andShaukat Aziz . Salim Saifullah Khan joined it as its Frontier President and apparently secured Anwar's release on bail who was earlier arrested byNational Accountability Bureau on account of several politically motivated charges such as jobs allotment to the poor people of Pakistan. After getting his Masters in Politics, Philosophy and Economics fromOxford University , UK, he further supplemented his credentials by taking a Masters degree in Public Administration fromUniversity of Southern California , U.S.A.Anwar Saifullah Khan joined the Civil Services of Pakistan in 1970. He held a number of command and administrative posts. He was the Consul General of Pakistan in Montreal, Canada 1980/84. He resigned from the Civil Services in 1984 to join the family business. He was elected as a member of the National Assembly (Parliament), 1988-1990. From 1990 to 1997 he was a Senator. He was Minister for Environment and Urban Affairs (1991-93). From 1994-96, Anwar Saifullah Khan was the Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources.
