Export Development Canada

Export Development Canada (EDC) is Canada's export credit agency, and a Crown corporation that provides financing and risk management services to Canadian exporters and investors in up to 200 markets worldwide. EDC and the Canadian Commercial Corporation are the two Crown corporations responsible for facilitating international trade.

In 2007, EDC‘s services and deal structuring capabilities helped to facilitate $77 billion in transactions for Canadian companies. Canadian companies utilize EDC services in virtually every world market, however, these services can be particularly effective in facilitating trade and investment in emerging markets that are opportunity rich but may also pose increased levels of risk. EDC publishes a quarterly magazine for Canadian Exporters, ExportWise ( "Exportateurs avertis" in French). In 2007, EDC won an award for excellence in electronic client relationship management, presented by the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat.
