Uncanny Alliance was a house music duo consisting of producer
Brinsley Evans and female vocalist E.V. Mystique from New York City. They first gained attention when their song "I Got My Education" was released to clubs in
1992 . The song was a response song to the ubiquitousCrystal Waters song "Gypsy Woman (She's Homeless)". After the song became popular in clubs, several record labels got into a bidding war to sign them. They ultimately signed withA&M Records , and in1994 , their album "The Groove Won't Bite" was released. Aside from "I Got My Education", the album did spawn one additional hit, the song "I'm Beautiful (Damnit)!"
