NBL ) player with theHobart Devils ,Melbourne Tigers andGold Coast Rollers . He grew up in Los Angeles after a rough start to life. At the age of 10 Eric was told that he would die on those very streets. Born with a devastating bone disease in both knees, with no access to advanced medical services to correct the problem, he faced incredible odds to elevate himself to a brighter future. Each day he was forced to deal with racism, drug infested surroundings, gang violence, low socio-economic conditions, and a tough school system. When he was 12 he witnessed the death of his friend a future 14 year old tennis player. He also was abandoned from his parents at birth because thy could not afford to keep him but this didn't stop him from his dreamsDuring that time he worked in many customer driven businesses such as sales, promotions, fitness, media, marketing, basketball coaching, and health industries.
He travels to adults, sporting teams and schools all over the world to share his story and inspire people to do more than is expected.
Eric Bailey went to Anglican Church Grammar School (ACGS) to give his motivational speech in November 2007.
Eric Bailey visited The Hills Sports High School (HSHS) to give his motivational speech using comedy on 25th June 2008.
Eric vistited Merrimac state high on the gold coast on 31st of july 2008 where year 11 students were both inspired and entertained
Eric visited Iona Collge to give his motivatational speech on 6th August 2008 to Year 11 students. The students regarded him as entertaining, motivational and engaging.
Eric gave a talk another talk on 6th August 2008 to Year 11 students at Stuartholme School. As with Iona, the students were very entertained by Mr Bailey's talk and continued to talk about it on the bus home.
Eric also gave a talk on 21st August 2008 to Year 10~12 students at Brisbane Adventist College.
Eric visited Mansfield State High School on 16th of September 2008, where he challenged the local basketball hero Nirul Singh to a 3-point shoot-off, narrowly winning but still handing over a wagered signed ball.
Eric visited Dakabin State High School on the 15th of September 2008, speaking to a crowd of around 300+ students.
