Howard Drossin is a music composer for film, television, commercials, and video games. He is best known for his score on the Tony Jaa martial arts film, The Protector, which he co-composed with hip-hop producer RZA.
Drossin's early music was for video games as the Music Director at Sega. In 1999, he began scoring films with the Sundance Film Festival's surreal horror film, The Item. In 2002, he started working with Terence Blanchard for whom he orchestrated and arranged music for film scores and jazz albums. Howard began working with The RZA on 2004's Blade: Trinity, which led to their work together on film, soundtracks and commercials. In 2006, the music he wrote for Joseph Kahn's commercial (and YouTube video sensation) "Hail: Return of the Sun" won a Clio for Music & Sound.
Drossin's work with Terence Blanchard won a 2008 Grammy in the category of Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album category for A Tale of God's Will (A Requiem for Katrina).
Drossin lives in Los Angeles, California.
