Elphinstone, Manitoba

Elphinstone is a community in the rural municipality of Strathclair in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It is located northwest of Brandon, Manitoba and is on Highway 10.

The primary industry of the community is agriculture.

History

Elphinstone was named after Lord Elphinstone, who came about 1880 as a guest of Robert Campbell, chief factor of the Hudson's Bay Company, and bought about 2,000 acres of land on the Little Saskatchewan River.
