It appears inDomesday Book as “Alresford – forda Ralph de Limesy Mill”.One of the village's main attractions is the much-photographed Packhorse Bridge. Built as a crossing over theRiver Aller (from which the village gets its name), is thought to have been constructed in the 18th Century.
