website = http://www.uis.edu.co/ The Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) ("Industrial University of Santander") is the most important university in Eastern Colombia, one of the main research institutes in the country. It has over 17,000 students for 28 undergraduate programmes. It was created in 1940 and started activities in March 1, 1948. It's located in Bucaramanga. The UIS has two radio stations and one television production company.

Faculties
Nowadays the university has five faculties. Medical Science, Physical- Mechanical Engineering,Physical- Chemichal Engineering, Social Science and Natural Science.
