Mission To understand and influence public policies by conducting policy-relevant research and preparing talented individuals to become leaders and agents of social change. Part of TheUniversity of Chicago , the Harris School is located on the University's main campus in Woodlawn, immediately south of Hyde Park. In addition topolicy studies andpolicy analysis , the school requires its students to pursue a thorough training ineconomics andstatistics through preliminary examinations and intensive course requirements. Further, the Harris School is known for its curricular interactions with the University-at-large, with students drawing upon the offerings of the Graduate School of Business, Law School, School of Social Service Administration, and the Graduate Division of the Social Sciences.Curriculum
The Harris School offers three full-time professional masters degree programs: a Master of Public Policy (M.P.P.), an S.M. in Environmental Science and Policy, and a one-year A.M. in Public Policy Studies. Further, a Ph.D. degree program is offered to students looking to pursure a career designing and conducting policy-relevant research. Last, accelerated joint degree offerings internal to the University exist to Harris School students, in particular, the M.P.P./J.D., M.P.P./M.B.A., and M.P.P./A.M. programs.
