Palliser is both a business and a community. Its roots have been nourished by the work ethic of founder, A.A. DeFehr, and its current values and principles are a product of his, and his family’s, personal views.

=Philanthropy=

The DeFehr family, through the DeFehr Foundation, is a long-time and generous contributor to many cultural and social causes. In the past, the Foundation primarily supported local needs in his home city of Winnipeg, Canada, but recently the international reach of Palliser, and its sister companies have led to a substantial increase of support for causes around the world. The Foundation, company or family members have been instrumental in many refugee initiatives, the creation of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, the development of a leading international agency that specializes in low-cost irrigation IDE International Development Enterprise, the founding of Canadian Mennonite University and Lithuanian Christian College, a private University in the former Soviet Union.
