Aberbeeg railway station served the village of Aberbeeg in Monmouthshire. It was the junction where the lines from Newport to Brecon and Ebbw Vale divided.

History

Opened by the Monmouthshire Railway, it became part of the Great Western Railway during the Grouping of 1923. The line then passed on to the Western Region of British Railways on nationalisation in 1948. It was then closed by the British Transport Commission.

The site today

Trains on the reopened Ebbw Vale Line pass the site between Llanhilleth and Ebbw Vale Parkway stations, although there is no station at Aberbeeg now.The mooted extension of the railway line to Abertillery would involve relaying the line from Aberbeeg.
