During those years, he won virtually every competition he disputed: the Rio State Championship in 1978, 1979 (twice), 1981 and 1986; the Brazilian National Championship in 1980, 1982, 1983 and 1987; the 1981 Libertadores Cup, and the 1981 Intercontinental Cup, when he scored one of the goals of Flamengo's 3-0 victory against England's Liverpool FC.Other noteworthy goals scored by Adílio were the first goal in Flamengo's 2-1 victory over city rivals Vasco da Gama in the 1981 Rio de Janeiro State Championship final match and the winning goal for Brazilian national team against West Germany in a friendly match in Maracanã stadium, shortly before the 1982 FIFA World Cup.
