- Jana Bellin
Jana Bellin (b.
December 9 ,1947 inPrague ,Czechoslovakia ; nee Malypetrová),chess player, was awarded her WIM (Woman International Master ) ofchess title in 1969, and WGM (Woman Grandmaster ) title in 1982.She won: British Women's Championship in 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1976, 1977 (after play-off), and 1979; bronze olympic medal in 1968 with the Czechoslovakian team, and silver in 1976 with the English team.
She is a
medical doctor specialising in anesthesiology, and works in intensive care atSandwell General Hospital ,West Bromwich , England.She is also Chairman of the
FIDE Medical Commission, which supervisesdrug testing of chess players.She was married first to International Master
William Hartston , then to GrandmasterTony Miles , and after that to International MasterRobert Bellin . She and Bellin had two sons: Robert (1989) and Christopher (1991).She is the granddaughter of the thrice Prime Minister of Czechoslvakia,
