Yassmin Alers

Yassmin Alers was born in Spanish Harlem as the middle child of a close-knit family of five children. She was a swing/understudy in the original broadway cast of Jonathan Larson's "Rent" on Broadway, and played Mimi in the Benny tour company of the show. 'Yaz' has appeared in many commercials nationwide, and can be found in many movies and television shows.

She also appeared on Broadway towards the end of the run of the revival for The Rocky Horror Show.

Her youngest sister, Karmine Alers, tracking in her sister's footsteps, is current a swing/understudy in "Rent" on Broadway, having recently played 'Mimi'.
